Every day in salons across the country, women are shaping confidence, creativity, and connection through the art of hair. This International Women’s Day, Wellastore is proud to celebrate the incredible women who make up our community with a special International Women’s Day mini-series:
What It Means to Be a #WellaWoman.
Featuring a group of inspiring Wella Professionals stylists and guest artists, this series shines a light on the personal stories behind the talent. Through their reflections and lived experiences, these artists share what being a #WellaWoman truly means to them - from the women who have inspired them throughout their lives to the products they rely on to express their creativity and help them #MakeItYou.
At its heart, this series is about empowerment, individuality, mentorship, and self-expression, honouring the strength and stories of women in our industry.
Mikaela: Confidence Through Authenticity
For Mikaela, being a Wella Woman is about confidence and self-belief.
“Being a Wella woman is powerful, it’s exciting. I have the best confidence in myself because my hair is fabulous. There is no going wrong.”
When it comes to inspiration, Mikaela believes it’s not just one individual who shapes her perspective - it’s the women she encounters every day.
“There’s no specific woman that I’ve ever felt individually inspired by because I think women as a whole are so special and so underrated. We give them to ourselves all the time, whether they’re my clients, the young girls growing up. The young girls inspire me with their fashion and the older women always have some living piece of advice that keeps me on the straight. They’re incredible, beautiful women and I’m inspired by them all.”
Mikaela’s current must-haves? The Ultimate Smooth range, which helps her keep her curls looking their best.
“I love to show off my curls with the Ultimate Smooth range. These are gamechangers. They help to smooth my curls, they remove frizz, they have heat protectant, they are shiny, they give me glass hair.”
